until 2 August 2028, when the AI Act applies to high-risk systems under Annex I, which includes medical devices.
AI Act, Article 113(c)(ii); Annex I, points 11 and 12.

Why now

The law requires people able to oversee AI.

  1. Who designs the AI

    Art. 14

“High-risk AI systems shall be designed and developed in such a way, including with appropriate human-machine interface tools, that they can be effectively overseen by natural persons during the period in which they are in use.”

    AI Act, Article 14(1).

  2. Who uses it in hospital

    Art. 26

“Deployers shall assign human oversight to natural persons who have the necessary competence, training and authority, as well as the necessary support.”

AI Act, Article 26(2). Deployers are those who use the AI: the hospital.

  3. From when

    Art. 113

“2 August 2028 as regards AI systems classified as high-risk pursuant to Article 6(1) and Annex I”

AI Act, Article 113(c)(ii). Annex I, points 11 and 12, lists the medical device regulations.

Our reading: today an organisation has no tool to show that its doctors can do it.

What we measure

A report, not a certificate.

This is what the ward report looks like. It's the structure, without data: the numbers will come from the first pilots.

Ward reportExample without data
Wrong AI suggestions followed
AI errors noticed and corrected
Time to notice
Trend over time
The bars only show how to read the report: they are not results.

How to start

Three steps.

  1. 01

    A call.

You tell us where AI is, or will be, part of your work.

  2. 02

    A pilot.

A group of your doctors works through the cases.

  3. 03

    The report.

What we saw and what to do next.

FAQ

Your questions, our answers

Does it need to be integrated with our systems?

No. It works in the browser, even on a phone.

Do you use your patients' data?

No. The cases are synthetic, written and reviewed by doctors.

Does LuceMed certify AI Act compliance?

No. It helps you train and measure human oversight; the compliance assessment remains yours.

Does it award CME credits?

Credits are issued by an accredited provider. With providers, we bring our cases into their courses.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of doctors and the project: we'll discuss it in the demo.
